One of a pair, with its own enclosed garden, Pleasant Maris makes a peaceful and comfortable base for families to explore the superb countryside and coastline of this area. There is a golf course and tennis courts all within 2 miles, while Newton Abbot and Torquay offer plenty more amenities. Dartmoor, only a few miles away, offers superb walking and riding and is home to the Dartmoor pony as well as some of the prettiest villages in Britain. In contrast the south Devon coast, which is also only a short drive away, boasts sandy beaches and spectacular cliffs.

3. Slightly further afield (and well worth the trip are St Mellion, Woodbury park and Dartmouth Golf and Country Club).

The cottage is in the centre of East Ogwell. Newton Abbot is three miles away.

Lots of fabulous places to visit within half-hour drive or so: Paignton Zoo, Moretonhampstead Miniature Pony Centre, Pennywell Farm, Woodlands Country Park, Living Coasts at Torquay, the whole of Dartmoor is on the doorstep!
