Scenery Cottage is a small cottage in the centre of the ancient village of Bridford, high up on the eastern edge of Dartmoor. The cottage, which accommodates up to four adults, is believed to be over 200 years old and was once the village school!

Scenery Cottage is close to the 17 th Century Thomas Becket Church as well as the highly recommended Bridford Inn.

The accommodation is as follows: 

Ground Floor

  • Ground Floor – entrance hall, with understairs area housing washer/dryer
  • Living room – with real coal fire and colour TV/video
  • Traditional kitchen/dining room – with wood burning stove, electric oven, four ring hob, toaster, kettle, microwave oven and dishwasher.

First floor

  • Double bedroom – with built in wardrobe and en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC
  • Twin bedroom – with built in wardrobe
  • Bathroom withfreestanding bath, hand basin and WC

Scenery Cottage, Bridford

Bridford is located in the beautiful Teign Valley, providing an excellent base from which to explore this wonderful area.

Although very popular with walkers and horse-riders, the village is not on the usual tourist trail and has remained unspoilt. This area is one of Dartmoor’s best kept secrets – a quiet, traditional village set in beautiful countryside in an area that has been captivating visitors for generations.
Dartmoor has acquired a justified reputation as one of Britain’s finest areas for walking and sight-seeing. Once experienced, it has a habit of drawing visitors back time and again!

Best of all, the cottage looks out over wonderful scenery (hence the name) and there are stunning walks literally from the doorstep. Whilst it is the perfect place for a long weekend break, there is more than enough to do and see to reward an extended stay too.
